I am going for my first marriage visa extension this week and in the Thai list of requirements to apply it says I need to take a witness which is not a relative, has Thai ID and house book.
Can anyone who has recently done this confirm?
Much appreciate any help

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a marriage visa extension in Thailand, some immigration offices may require you to have a witness who is not a relative, possesses a Thai ID, and has a house book. However, the application process may vary by office. In some cases, the witness does not need to accompany you to the immigration office but must provide their ID card and house book.
Some offices require it and some don't. For the ones that do, normally they just want you to get a copy of the ID card and house book of a Thai person, that person doesn't actually have to go to immigration with you. I'm not sure if there's a form for it or not though.
Here's an example I found that was just posted a few hours ago on ASN. So it shows you how every immigration office is different. This office requires TWO witnesses, but they just need the ID cards and house books, not the people themselves.
