Heading to Laos from Udon this afternoon, do I need any photos or anything to get stamped in or can I just pay and get it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To enter Laos from Udon, you generally need 1 passport photo for a visa on arrival. However, if you don't have a photo, you can usually get one taken on-site for a small fee. If you plan to apply for a Thai visa while in Laos, you'll need an additional 2 passport photos.

If you don’t have a photo there will be someone there ready and willing to take your photo, at a very small price. Not a big deal.

You need 1 passport photo for visa on entry into laos but I was there 2 weeks ago. Many people didn't have photo but still got visa they just wanted your money. If you plan on getting a Thai visa while there you need 2 passports photos also.

they are NOT strict at all about photo size in Vientiane OR at the border when you get your lao visa

Are they not different sizes? For Thai visa app it's 3.5x4.5.

Can I pay to get some taken there or is there a place around Chiang Mai I can get some taken?
