TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether a residency certificate is necessary for re-entry into Thailand after short trips abroad. Comments suggest that passport stamps may suffice to prove residency, and clarify that temporary visitors without the 'red book' are generally considered on temporary entry. Furthermore, the conversation highlights that leaving Thailand to an approved country does not necessitate a 21-day stay outside to qualify for quarantine exemption upon return.

wasnt that super obvious? Obviously you shouldnt do quarantine in Thailand because you were in Thailand within the 21 days :D

Read this from MFA website that infographic is confusing.

It just means if you leave Thailand and only go to one of the countries on the list, and meet the other requirements like fully vaccinated, you can do the quarantine exempt program like someone who was in that country for 21 days.

Some people thought if you left you had to stay out for 21 days to be able to return but that's not the case.

They class residents, as those holding the red book.

Everybody else, apart from Thais, are simply on a temporary entry

dont think so in this case Richard Barrows just did a trip for 3 days i think, to London and back, he is on non B visa not permanent resident.

Think in this instance any long term visa, basically if you can re enter on same visa

I'm simply saying that when they talk about 'Residents' they are referring to those actually holding residency

yes the infographic wherever the poster got it is wrong mentioning resident.

Just checked goverment website and its clearer.

I read it as people going out for short trips Buisness or otherwise, can be in one of the approved countries for whatever amount of days as long time before was in Thailand.

Basically saying time in Thailand counts as an approved country.

Could be wrong

I’m not even sure you’d need a residency certificate. The stamps in your passport will show you’ve been “resident”. Not 100% certain though.

So do you think I would be considered as a resident with a 1 year stamp on Elite Visa ?

that’s my take on it. However the infographics put out are very confusing.
