Do I need a printout of the TM30 form to apply for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand?

Hello, regarding the TM30 form. My airbnb host said she completed the TM30 form online and so I don't need a printout of the form to take with me to immigration to apply for a 30 day extension. She said the immigration office can look it up in their system to see the form was completed for me.

Has anyone had their TM30 completed online and they went to immigration for extension and immigration looked up their TM30 in their system without printout?

I arrived on a visa entry exemption and I am looking to extend for 30 days.

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the necessity of having a printout of the TM30 form when applying for a 30-day visa extension at immigration. While some users confirm that immigration can indeed look it up in their system, several others strongly advise bringing a printout or screenshot as a precaution to avoid potential issues or fines. Users have shared mixed experiences, indicating that requirements may vary by location within Thailand, with some immigration offices definitely requiring the document.

Chiang Mai is asking for it but at Immigration you can send an email to them with the pdf

You absolutely need to print it out, we were sent away because we thought it was online, we were totally wrong

Some require it, some don't, just go to the office you will be using and get a list of requirements for the extension.

Chonburi jomtien immigration require a copy TM30 even if it is registered

They want a printout even if technically they could look it up.

Depending on what system or app landlord used, it can not be screen shot , there is no receipt number or anything. What you should do , just in case , also bring a letter from landlord confirming where you staying and confirming online was filled. Most of the time this is all that is needed

I needed the actual tm30 at Jomtien office.

I stayed with my son, and he lodged online and printed out a copy of the successful lodgement, I showed that and they just noted the lodgement number

Jomtien you need it.

Some of these owners/agents are not very helpful. You spend thousands of baht on their rental and just get excuses in return.

many believe they refuse to do the T3, because they’re afraid they will have to pay tax on their income. Not sure if this is really true, but this lore is widely passed around on these groups.

she actually was asking a question. Great you have an opinion, but did you have an answer for her?

I wish did, but if it was me I would ask again for a copy. The owner can download the form and email it to tenent, instead of printing it.

My landlord did mine and I have never been asked for it because the IO can see it in the system. If anyone is in doubt they can check into a cheap hostel for one night and they will put you in the system because it’s the law. After that you are good to go without printing. Or just go with screen shot if it eases your mind.

Print the PDF they send u after you register and bring tht with you. Yes they can look it up online but you are legally required to have it with you in your passport at all times.

@Nigel *************
wtf ? You are not legally required, don't talk bullshit

yes you are mate like you are legally required to carry your passport with you at all times too ... even to the beach. People don't but that's not the point.

Me i done it on line. They gave a pdf after 2 days and you can print or capture the document for 7 days.After i think they delete. If you will make extension of your visa at office you will need it

Take a printout or screenshot, better taking than not even if not needed.

She COULD be right, but if immigration ask for it, you have a problem, as well as a fine. Just get her to screenshot the registration and email you the screenshot
Radost **************************
@Steve *******
there is no fine!!!!
Radost **************************
@Steve *******
first the poster said tm30 was done, so there can never be a fine. And as mentioned the fine is for the landlord, so ?
Steve ********
@Radost *************************
There is also a fine for the visitor or tenant!
Steve ********
@Radost *************************
Actually there is! Not always enforced but definitely is!
Steve *******
@Steve *******
No fine if it was registered
Steve ********
@Steve ******
Yes but if they ask for it and you haven't got it?
Ilse **********
@Steve *******
still no fine , my son had it not 2 times and they not asked for it at all ,CW

@Steve *******
could be different in different provinces but in Bangkok they just send you away to go get it. But it's hit and miss on whether they ask for it or not.

Had a friend who was asked for it, came back the next day with it and they didn't want it 🤣

@Declan *********
If you're happy to advise the OP that there will DEFINITELY be no fine if there is no TM30 registered, I guess everything will be ok! 🤣🤣🤣
