I am renewing a retirement visa and am struggling to get the Thai bank account letter early in the morning.
Before then queuing at immigration (Chaeng Wattana). Often too late to get a decent #
Any advice appreciated.
-Does the bank account letter have to be issued the same day as renewal?
-Is there a Bangkok bank nearby?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing a retirement visa in Thailand, you can obtain the bank account letter and transaction report up to 7 days before your appointment at the Chaeng Wattana immigration office. There is a Bangkok Bank located in the basement of building B at the Government Complex where the immigration office is situated. To avoid long queues, consider making an appointment instead of waiting in line.

My statements were up to a few days before my appointment, when I picked them up on the day of appointment Bangkok Bank printed me the last week up to date.
I would typically get to CW at 8:30am. The early birds would enter and then I would get my queue number. I never waited more than an hour to see an officer and I would get my passport and extension an hour later. I was always out before lunch. I just planned to spend the morning there.
I once had a prior appointment and that was great but not necessary.
There's a Bangkok Bank in the 'basement' (actually floor 1) of building B where the immigration office is at the Government Complex on Chaengwattana Road
