Do I need a bank account letter issued on the same day as my retirement visa renewal in Thailand?

I am renewing a retirement visa and am struggling to get the Thai bank account letter early in the morning.

Before then queuing at immigration (Chaeng Wattana). Often too late to get a decent #

Any advice appreciated.

-Does the bank account letter have to be issued the same day as renewal?

-Is there a Bangkok bank nearby?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing a retirement visa in Thailand, you can obtain the bank account letter and transaction report up to 7 days before your appointment at the Chaeng Wattana immigration office. There is a Bangkok Bank located in the basement of building B at the Government Complex where the immigration office is situated. To avoid long queues, consider making an appointment instead of waiting in line.

My statements were up to a few days before my appointment, when I picked them up on the day of appointment Bangkok Bank printed me the last week up to date.

I would typically get to CW at 8:30am. The early birds would enter and then I would get my queue number. I never waited more than an hour to see an officer and I would get my passport and extension an hour later. I was always out before lunch. I just planned to spend the morning there.

I once had a prior appointment and that was great but not necessary.

Make an appointment at CW instead of queuing. I'm in and out in a little over an hour

you need to know when you will go and be watching the appt slots, they only open them 30 days before so you have to be quick about it

only shows that day open for the rest of this month

and these are the only days open next month (because today is the 3rd so that's all they show as bookable)

There's a Bangkok Bank in the 'basement' (actually floor 1) of building B where the immigration office is at the Government Complex on Chaengwattana Road

Chaengwattana allows the bank letter and the year transaction detail report (which you also need) to be up to 7 days old.

Go get the letter and transaction report a few days before you are going to Chaengwattana.

The only thing required to be done the day you apply is update the bank book and make a copy

that is NOT immigration office specific at all, it's just a general list of what can be required

This is the most current "general list" one Nov 2023 is the date but I sure wouldn't take it as gospel at Chaengwattana
