I try to find the right answer… do I need 800k in bank or is it enough that I have a salary around 100k Swedish krona every month? When I apply… ?

Though mine was issued in London Bangkok immigration would not issue the second 5 years

Yes had to be in a Thai bank, out it in while I was on holiday

To the best of my knowledge not a single person who ever bought an OX visa has successfully applied in country for the 5 year extension. :O Although I could be wrong ;)

Hands down Aussiez have the most OX visas issued of any country (because the previous ease in which they handed them out at the consulates in Oz)

I would say go to the Phuket immigration office and see what they say.

Nope. None of my colleagues have ever heard of that happening either. Of those that I know that have had one they just go back to Aus to get a new one. The requirement for an extension is something like 3 million baht in a Thai bank.

Whether anyone has been successful in getting an extension I couldn’t say. I’ve certainly never read a post about one. Doesn’t mean it may not have happened but it would be a rare as rocking horse sh*t.
