Please advise:

1/ for 'O' 90 day for retirement visa -embassy says need a ticket out on entry at Immigration. Others say sensibly no you dont as wont be leaving- answers please?

2/ I have 800,000 in K bank. how do I prove that from the UK without banking on line , as cant get that without living in Hua Hin and thus mobile contract.

Many thanks

Rick
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around two main questions related to the 90-day Non-O retirement visa for Thailand. First, it clarifies that an onward ticket is typically not required for entry if the visa is obtained directly from the Thai embassy. Instead, an exit stamp suffices. Second, regarding proof of sufficient funds, most contributors suggest using bank statements from a Thai account, but there are suggestions for proving funds through alternative foreign accounts if necessary, although it's more straightforward to show funds directly from a Thai bank account.

I know the circumstances are different but I arrived last September on a 90 Day Non O for the purposes of visiting Thai Family (wife) with the intention to get a 1 year extension. I wasn't asked to show a flight out of Thailand. Alternatively, what you could do is find the cheapest flight available to somewhere outside of Thailand and use that as your proposed exit flight, just a thought

OP
Simon/Rick - thanks. I think best way from what I see is showing three months of minimum equivalent of 65,000 baht per month over the last three months in my Natwest here. I am told that it is much easier to get 12 month extension from an 'O' 90 day Visa than 60 day ( soon to be 30 days I here - parliament approved) V on A. Money is already in Kas a/c in my name only for the extension. Thanks to Graham and you, Simon. Rick

It was confusing for me too. The way they have it worded is not clear. They just want a photo of your Thailand exit stamp in your passport, not a ticket.

I didn't have that. Never mind.

hhhhhlyh No, this is something like a flight number and date for the proposed entry to Thailand when using the visa, it's flight details not a flight booking

If you already have the money in Thailand why don't you come on a 60 day visa exemption get your non O in Thailand and then extend it this would probably be the easiest way.

This will only be possible if the money is in a Thai account solely in your name a joint account isn't any good.

Simon Adams but then he would definitely need proof of onward travel and more trips to Immigration before getting the 12 month extension to doubtful if it's easier or cheaper

Graham Seal yes normally but it looks like he cant meet the criteria for getting a nonO in the UK because he has already transferred the money to Thailand.

I understand you don't have access to your account via an app without a registered thai phone but can you not login to it using a browser and obtain statements that way?

Richard Coupland . . do you not have an onlinebanking at hand, with the option to print three months of bank statements? If not, do you have equivalent in your home bank account - as this is accepted as a proof for the visa application

Thanks Nongnuch. Yes, will have to do from home bank a/c. thanks again. Rick

If you arrive in Thailand on a Non-O from the Thai embassy you do not need a onward ticket.

A onward ticket is only required if you arrive on a visa exempt entry.

Gerar Teuben It's a tourism entry requirement so can also be applied to 60 day Tourist Visa entries

1 you don't need ticket out

, 2 for the 90 day I think the money has to be in accounting the country you are applying from ( not 100% on that one )

A post above says can be any bank for initial 90 day but must be Thai account for extension

Gary Colclough Confused. For the 90 day Non-O you need the 800K in a Thai bank account. I have the equivalent in US$ with an Amex High Yield Savings account in the US. Is that good enough if I apply from the US? Do I still need 800K matured for 2 months in a Thai account for the 1 year extension? Thanks

Gary ***********
Peter Pritzl you definitely need the 800k in a Thai bank seasoned for 2 months for the extension, it then needs to stay above 800k for the 3 months after and over 400k for the whole year, this absolutely must be in an instant access Thai account

No, you can use normally any account, many people apply with a Thai account which they already have.
