TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, travelers arriving at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) typically receive a 30-day visa on arrival, provided they meet certain requirements such as having a return ticket and demonstrating sufficient funds (typically ฿20,000 or its equivalent). However, it's important to note that travelers from some countries may not receive this automatically. The process might incorporate some verification measures, including showing a flight ticket leaving Thailand after the 30 days. Additionally, travelers are reminded to be aware of their visa type and stay regulations to avoid immigration issues.

Are you only staying 30 days? If so, have return ticket and ฿20,000 baht or it’s equivalent in pounds, dollars, Euros, cash only.

Anthony ...Either get the O-A visa for retirement before you come to Thailand....or arrive before your current Extension of Stay expires.

Save yourself three + months of reapplying for the Non O to obtain a new one year extension of stay.

And yes...if you arrive after your current extension of stay expires...

Most likely stamped in for 30 days visa exempt on arrival.

you cannot stay in thiland on a vistors visa,of 30 days you may need to show at ticket leaving after 30 days and come back best way is book a flight to say Vietnam just before the 30 days and cancel it then keep paperwork then ovisly get extension in this land it's very strict now they will do anything to refuse entry
