Anyone in recent (2025) experience had to do an in-person interview for your application? I'm curious to know if the embassy will give you a window to make an appointment or if they dictate when your interview is going to be?

TLDR : Answer Summary
From recent experiences shared by users, embassies generally dictate the timing for in-person interviews regarding visa applications. Applicants typically receive an appointment date and time directly from the embassy, often with short notice, confirming their attendance is required. Some users mentioned that an interview might be called for via email, but it usually depends on the documents submitted with the application.

Got the invitation Thursday to have the interview Monday morning in a time slot 9.30-10.00am. There were 5 applicants every 30 minutes.

I was given the date and time (KL embassy) - I got the email around 6pm for an appointment the next morning. It's pretty short notice- maybe to ensure you really are in-country....

I was given the next day to come, working hours between 9-11.30 only

You apply for evisa online and depending on your documents the embassy will call you for in person interview via email. If they need anything that needs to be clear only in that case, otherwise no interview at all
Yes, I know that, thanks. I was wondering in cases where an interview has been required, if the embassy dictates the time and date or if they give you a choice. The others have answered above.
