Hi. Regarding the DTV, is the 10k price only for the named visa holder? Or does the dependent also have to pay 10k?

And also, do the visa holders have to check in with Immigration periodically, or is it just every 180 days they have to leave the country?

Thanks in advance for any info.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 10,000 baht fee for the DTV visa applies to each individual, including dependents, unless they belong to nationalities exempt from visa fees. Visa holders are required to report to Immigration every 90 days if they are staying longer than 90 days from their entry date, in addition to the general rule of leaving the country every 180 days.

Every single applicant has to pay the fee, no matter what type of visa, primary or dependent (except nationalities that are waived visa fees).

If you are staying longer than 90 days from the day of arrival, you need to do a 90-day report to the local immigration office, every "90 days".

thanks. So both my wife, who would be the primary visa holder, and myself, the dependent, would have to pay 10k each and both prove we have 500k in a bank account?

And we both have to do the 90 day report.

Apart from my wife and i being able to legally work whilst in Thailand, are there any advantages to this over the Retirement Non O visa?

Thanks for any help you can give...

you can work in Thailand but only work with clients or business outside of Thailand and yes you both need to show 500k baht and most consulates are actually a bit more than 10,000 baht some $400

, yes, all applicants have to pay each. It totally depends on the Thai Embassy/consulate if they require you to prove 500K for each or 500K baht equivalent of the primary applicant can cover all family members. Yes, both have to do 90-day reports if staying in Thailand long enough.

She can work only remotely for the company or clients outside Thailand, not for anyone inside Thailand.

The advantage depends on individuals' priority. Someone's pros could be someone else's cons. That is solely your decision.

You can work "remotely" from Thailand but your business cannot have and customers based in Thailand.
