TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend a 30-day visa waiver by an additional 30 days at immigration in Hua Hin or Jomtien, costing 1,900 Thai baht for the extension. However, it is recommended to consider applying for a tourist visa instead, as it allows a 60-day stay plus an additional 30-day extension, totaling 90 days. The tourist visa can now be obtained as an e-visa online, avoiding the need for a trip to the Thai Embassy.

You mean visa-exempt entry which you can apply for a 30days tourism extension, right?

The Visa waiver program is another program for only specific several countries, that is based on bilateral agreement and you cannot apply for a tourism extension.

Which you will be depends on your nationality.

If you entered on a UK passport, you entered on a 30 day visa exempt, and not a 30 day visa waiver. You can get ONE 30 day extension of stay based on tourism at the local immigration office.

Different immigration offices have different policies, but almost all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms)

4. 2x passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

visa exempt (ผ.30) and visa waiver (ผ.ผ.30) are two completely different entry types.

What country is your passport from?

Yes...not a problem.

Extension at Thai immigration 1,900 Thai baht.

30+30=60 days

But why not get the new Tourist Visa...its now issued online e-visa.

No more need to mail in passport to Thai Embassy. Just get the evisa put into passport on arrival into Thailand.

Saves you a trip to Thai immigration to get the extension if only staying 60 days.

Tourist visa is 60 days plus 30 day extension = 90 days stay.
