Hi all. I'm giving up on the idea of getting a visa at my local embassy but if I arrive in Phuket on a visa waiver I can stay for 45 days is that correct?
Also can I extend that by 30 days by going to the immigration office and paying the 1,900 THB?
Thanks - exasperated of London

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original understanding of a 45-day visa waiver for Phuket is incorrect; it has been reduced to 30 days. However, you can extend your stay by an additional 30 days for a fee of 1,900 THB at the immigration office.

Aren't the UK visa applications now online? I thought (could be wrong) I saw a post yesterday from UK resident saying he got his visa approval within 24 hours?
nope, that 45 day visa exempt entry went back down to 30 days now but you're right you can get ONE extension for 30 more days at the immigration office for 1900 baht.
