TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can apply for your husband's DTV first. Dependents, such as your son, must apply separately under the dependent visa category once the main applicant is approved. You will need to provide proof of relationship, financial means, and the main applicant's DTV status during the application for your son.

Dependents apply separately. Once the main applicant is approved, you submit a new application for your son under the dependent category, proving the funds, that his dad has a DTV, that he is in fact his dad, etc. and then submit the application fee and wait within that jurisdiction to be approved. Then head to Thailand once approved.

DTV_BegPecker thanks a lot! My children don’t have a bank account. Should each of us show separate accounts with 500k baht?

Yes. You don't really add dependants, they each apply for their own DTV quoting the principal DTV holder
