Hello, I need a help from the LTR visa holders regarding the health insurance.

I did research the posts here and saw the majority of the health insurance related posts.

However, I still not clear about the option C: "financial evidence showing a deposit of no less than 100,000 USD (or 25.000 USD in case of dependents only) which has been held for no less than 12 months at the time of application"

My question is can $100k be in the USA financial institution or must be in Thai bank.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

(We are playing from abroad and can't call visa center for the clarification)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks clarification on the financial evidence required for the LTR visa, specifically whether the $100,000 deposit needs to be held in a Thai bank or if it can be in a foreign financial institution. Respondents inform that the funds can be held in any bank account, and it does not have to be specifically in Thailand.

Frankly, if u can put two fingers up to all the bellocks, just put 800k in a bank account, get the 12 month extension of stay, withdraw the 800k and get plssed up with it!

if you qualify for LTR it's superior in every way.

it's good for 10 years. It's multiple entry. No 90 day report.

To get a multi entry stamp cost 3600 baht valid for 12 months, takes 20 mins to get. 90 report is free and takes 5 mins to do! usd100k does not sound a sensible option!

what? I think you're misunderstanding. There's an insurance requirement for the LTR. If you don't want that you just show them you have $100,000 in the bank and they waive the insurance requirement.

I just bought a high deductible policy for $300 for a year and that's all they care about is the first year.

would you please tell what insurance did you buy?

@Ritaa *******
I have insurance through work that covers me but because it doesn't have a dollar amount it doesn't satisfy the requirements of LTR so I just found the cheapest insurance possible with the highest deductible that meets the requirements for the visa. Atlas Essential International is what I purchased.
