TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African citizen invited to volunteer in Thailand is inquiring whether they can travel directly from Namibia or if they must first return to South Africa. They also seek information regarding the visa needed for volunteering. Several comments indicate that a specific visa, likely the Non Immigrant O visa based on volunteering, will be necessary and that the inviting organization must provide the required paperwork. Moreover, there are indications that certain visas may face restrictions related to regions such as Africa and India.

You need the Non Imm O visa based on volunteering. The Organization you'll be volunteering for should provide paperwork in order for you to apply for the visa.
The NGO or the foundation who has invited you are the only ones able to provide the paperwork for your visa. You would need to ask them. They will know the procedure for you. There is only the volunteer visa for this kind of situation and you cannot be working or earning any money in Thailand when you are on it.
