Hello fellow expats. I have lived in Thailand nearly 5 years and working with NonB Visa from my international school.
My Situation:
I was let go from my school and on February 28 the school will cancel my Work Permit and Visa.
I need to stay in Thailand until end of April. I have a USA passport.
My questions:
1) I was told by my school that they can cancel my Work Permit and Visa without me needing to go with them to Immigration. Is this true? I don't need to go to Immigration myself to cancel my Visa?
2) If my school cancels my Visa on February 28, I want to know what day is acceptable by immigration for me to do a Border Run to get 30 days Visa and extend another 30 days. (Total of 60 days)
What should I do a Border Run?
a) Feb 27, Day before school cancels my NonB
b) Feb 28, Same day school cancels my NonB.
c) Mar 2, The Monday after my School cancels my NonB
Or maybe any of those dates are okay? What do you recommend?
Thank you in advance for your help. And if you have questions I will gladly do my best to answer from what Ive learned.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on the cancellation of their Non-B Visa and Work Permit after being let go from their international school. They inquire about whether the school can independently cancel their visa without the user's presence and seek clarification on the best timing for a border run to maximize their stay in Thailand.
