Can I apply for a third Covid extension on my visa in March after already receiving one in January?

Hello people! I’m super confused with the new regulations about the Covid extension…

So I entered the country on early November on a visa exemption, then in early December I extended the Touristic visa for 30 days and on early January I extended for the 60 days Covid extension.

Can I apply for the Covid extension again in early March?

Thank you so much for your help 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether they can apply for a third Covid extension for their visa in March, after having already taken one extension in January. Responses indicate that it may be possible to apply again, but approval will depend on the discretion of the immigration officer. Another user notes that their spouse, who has gone through similar extensions, may not be eligible for a third extension after already receiving two.

okay, I think we beat this dead horse enough.. It's not gonna get up and run any more 😛

Good luck to the O/P and their upcoming covid extensions.

Also my husband entered the kingdom in early october on a visa exemp, then in early November he applied for 60 days Covid extension and then in early January he applied for a second 60 days Covid extension.

From what I understand, he is not eligible for a third Covid extension in early March?

you are not understanding how the new covid program works.

The only people who CANNOT apply are people who entered on a 15 day visa on arrival (which neither you nor your husband did) or people who had a Non-Immigrant type visa (again which neither you nor your husband did).

That means you both can apply for a covid extension on this new program that runs until March 25th

Now, whether you'll get the extension or not is totally up to the immigration officer you're sitting in front of on the day you apply. They don't have to give you the extension and just because you don't want to leave isn't a good enough reason for them to give another 60 days. 😕

All you can do is go apply and see what they say. BUT that is why you were told to have a "plan B" in the works just in case you get denied

I’m on my way right now to Immigration to check that very same scenario.. great timing..

Yep, I can extend using Covid extension one more time.. so that’s a 60 day tourist visa with 30 day extension then 2x 60 day Covid extensions

@Stephen ********
which is exactly what the new rules say, people who entered visa exempt or on a tourist visa CAN apply for another covid extension during this program

@T**
thanks for the clarification.

I read so many things online that I got totally confused on who is eligible to get it and who is not.

I m attaching a screenshot i came across last night

that spells it out just like I did, if you enterd on a visa on arrival (which you DID NOT) or if you have had ANY Non-Immigrant Type visa (which you DID NOT) then you can't get a covid extension and they give you that stamp and that means you have a week to get out of thailand.

same to you. He can try, but depends on the immigration officer if he can really get

You can try to apply for another Covid extension. But if you can be granted or not is between you and the immigration officer you are gonna deal with.

If it's me, I would try to ask first a few days before the current stamp expires with Plan B being prepared.

could plan B be a student visa? (for muay thai)
Ellie *******
@Danai ****
maybe, If your school can support in-country visas before your stamp is less than 15days left

I'm not sure any Muay Thai school can do though

I’ll ask my school tomorrow morning.

Could plan C be traveling to Langwai for a couple of days, apply for Thai Pass and then re enter the Kingdom?

@Danai ****
Langkawi currently also runs a similar project like the “sandbox” you have to enter Langkawi under strict regulations and quarantine (if I’m not mistaken 7days) and everything booked through a registered agency.

Just a few days Langkawi visa run doesn’t seem so easy.

@Danai ****
, You can get out of Thailand to whatever country you can enter, and travel back to Thailand to enter again on a tourist visa or exempt.

Travel information is out of the scope of this group though.
