Can I work remotely on a soft power visa in Thailand, and do I need proof of class enrollment for re-entry?

A couple of questions someone here could hopefully help with.

1) If I apply based on soft power, am I allowed to work remotely? If not, would you need to exit Thailand, go to an embassy and apply for a new DTV based on workcation?

2) For soft power, e.g. muay thai classes, do you need to have proof of being enrolled in a new class if entering via airport after the first course has ended?

Sorry I tried searching this group but was not able to find answers to these questions. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks if they can work remotely while on a soft power visa and whether exiting Thailand to reapply for a workcation visa is necessary. Additionally, they inquire about the need for proof of enrollment in muay thai classes for re-entry after their initial course ends. Comments suggest that remote work is generally tolerated even on tourist visas, and some gyms offer documentation for continued enrollment, which might help upon re-entry.

If you’re remote worker, why apply via soft power? Just apply for the workcation route.

You can work remotely anytime even on visa exemption or a regular tourist visa. I mean, if you're in your hotel room or condo and doing some work for your employer on your computer: what's wrong with that? Who's gonna stop you? Heck you can even take your laptop to a cafe, sit there and do something on your computer. Again: what's wrong with that?

I was under the same impression as you back in 2021. I was stuck in Thailand during Covid and had to extend every month instead of every 2 and one time I went, the immigration lady told me she knew I was working online (teaching) and I should stop.

Weird thing is, I was teaching at a school without a WP for 6 months as the agency told me they were processing it each time I asked, yet they never even brought that up 🤷

My online teaching was all outside Thailand as well, as in the students, the platform and the payments
