TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about whether COVID insurance must be purchased in Thailand or if coverage from a UK insurer is acceptable for their trip to Phuket. Commenters confirm that UK insurance is sufficient, with a recommendation to ensure the policy covers hospital costs for COVID treatment. A note on potential quarantine costs if tested positive without symptoms is also discussed.

Not a problem IF IT WILL PAY your hospital bills if you test positive for COVID WITHOUT symptoms.

Its a cost of approx 150,000 Thai baht +/- for 14 days quarantine at your expense.

Thai insurance will pay...many foreign insurers will NOT PAY .
