TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarity on using 400k baht as part of the financial requirement for a marriage visa extension after renewing it. Responses confirm that as long as the 400k is back in the account two months before the next application, it's acceptable. However, inconsistencies in information from different immigration offices are noted, suggesting that checking with the local office is prudent, as rules may vary by location.

Can someone just confirm if you mean after application or receiving the extension approx one month later, please.

after you get the one year extension stamped in your home.

Ask your local immigration office, that’s the safest. Not all immigration offices use the rules, some up north you’ll have to have a minimum of 400.000 all year around on your account. So to be sure you don’t get in trouble, ask your local immigration office 😃 And remember, if you follow any advice given here, and its wrong, you’re the one that’s fucked, not the person giving the advice 😜

The ONLY banked money method that requires 400K baht to be banked all year is the retirement one where you show 800K baht for 2 months to get the extension, then keep the 800K in the bank for 3 months after the extension is granted then the balance can't go below 400 the rest of the year <- meaning that 400k is "frozen" in an account all the time

that is NOT correct, not at all

If your office is telling you that they are totally making up a rule that does NOT exist and if you accept it then it is on you for not questioning them and making them show you in writing where that is stated

i did Surin div4.they said i can use money, but they were inconclusive in interpretation as to when i could use it..i know 800k retirement funds are totally different format

the ONLY variance I've ever seen is SOME offices ask you to keep the 400K baht in the account during the 30 day under consideration period when you apply for the year extension, meaning you really bank it 3 months, 2 months before you apply and then the 1 month the application is under consideration) BUT even that is not written in the rules anywhere

yep they don't do it anymore at any office I am aware of

I think even bangkok realized it wasn't a "real rule" written into the police order covering extensions so they dropped it

Yes you can

Yep, no problem using the 400K baht banked money you used to get your yearly extension.

As long as you get it back to 400K at least 2 months before you apply for the extension next year then you're fine. .. .
