When I first applied for a DTV in Hanoi, it was canceled, so I had to reapply, which took quite a long time. While waiting for the result of the reapplication, I received news that a family member in Thailand was ill, so I entered Thailand. In the meantime, the DTV I had reapplied for was approved. In this situation, can I still use this visa? Can I leave to a third country by land and then re-enter Thailand using this DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual initially faced a cancellation of their DTV application but reapplied and was subsequently approved while in Thailand due to a family emergency. They are seeking clarification on whether they can still use the approved DTV visa and enter Thailand again after traveling to a third country by land. Responses confirm that it is generally permissible to leave and return, with advice to ensure the exit and entry at a land border allows for reactivation of the DTV visa.
YES... BUT make sure the land border crossing you use will stamp in a New DTV Visa or require you to stay outside of Thailand a day or two before reentering.
With the Cambodian borders CLOSED...
WHICH land border crossing are you considering to use?
Flying out and returning might prove to be a similar cost of doing a land border crossing, depending on where you are living in Thailand.
