Would doing a land crossing into Laos then flying from Vientiane to Thailand raise any flags with immigration? Or is it best to fly in, stay for awhile, then fly back?
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the concerns of crossing into Laos by land and then flying back to Thailand, particularly regarding immigration protocols. Many participants indicate that it is generally safe and not problematic to cross into Laos and return, especially for those holding a multi-entry visa. Several users shared their positive experiences with immigration after such crossings, emphasizing that there were no issues or flags raised. A critical point raised is that for land visits, there may be restrictions on the number of times one can cross per year.
