TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant inquired about the acceptability of using a 5-day hotel booking for their DTV visa application, expressing intention to secure long-term accommodation upon arrival. Responses clarified that a short hotel booking is permissible and suggested considering a refundable option for more flexibility. Additionally, there was a question regarding whether a selfie could suffice as an application photo; it was advised that a standard passport photo format is recommended.

A booking for 5 days or a week should be fine.

You will upload the biodata passport page plus another photo for the actual visa which should kind of conform to the specifications of a standard passport photo

Why not just book a refundable accomodation for 2-4 weeks and avoid raising doubts.

And I'm sorry, I didn't understand the context of the second part of your question.
