Hi everyone, 

I applied for a STV Visa and I'm still waiting for it. My flight is planned for 1st of May. But I assume that the Visa won't be done till then. Do I have to postpone my flight and wait till the Visa is done or can I still take my flight on 1st of May and enter Thailand with visa on arrival for the time I'm waiting for the STV Visa? Is it possible to switch from visa on arrival to STV Visa then?

I'm not sure why but the e visa site is down at the moment. I went to submit my application this morning but the site doesn't load. Maybe that is causing your visa delay also..

they had on the landing page of the evisa website all last week that they would be down for scheduled maintenance.

You need to get the STV before you stamp in to thailand or cannot use it. <- at least not for that entry.

You can't already BE in the country and then activate a visa

You'd have to exit/re-enter the country with the STV to activate an entry on that visa

SO you either come here without a visa, get the STV, then exit/re-enter and stamp in on it

OR

You wait until you get it and then come here stamping in on it when you arrive
