Hello! My husband and I have a 1 year Retirement visa based on 65k monthly deposits. We renewed our visas in April 2026 and the next renewal will be in April 2027. We are considering to switch from the 65 k monthly deposits to the 800k money in the bank.

Hello! My husband has a 1 year Retirement visa based on 65k monthly deposits and I have one as a dependent/spouse. We renewed our visas in April 2026 and the next renewal will be in April 2027. We are considering switching from the 65 k monthly deposits to the 800k money in the bank.

If we deposit the 800k now, can we stop bringing the monthly 65k at any time now and safely be able to renew our visa in April 2027?

Thank you for your answers!
Answer summary
A user inquires about switching their Retirement Visa financial requirement from 65,000 THB monthly deposits to an 800,000 THB bank deposit. They've already renewed their visas in April 2026 with the next renewal set for April 2027. They seek to know if they can deposit the 800,000 THB now and discontinue the monthly deposits while still being eligible for their next visa renewal.

My friend work in immigration and say, automatic gate isn't for people with visa. 🤷‍♂️

I already use the automated gates to exit, as it allows to avoid having another stamp (my passport is almost full).

Would be glad to use for entry too!

I always get stamped in / out . Then no possibility of a mix up on dates.

Think will be for long term visas like retirement etc , not for tourist visas (dtv is tourist visa)

Just read the list and surprised US is not on there. Other countries using the same system allows US passport holders

You can't use the gates with a visa as far as I'm currently aware. They still need stamps in Thailand at least that's what I'm being told.

incorrect, the same system is in use in other Asean countries and you can enter a visa number on the pre arrival app. THIM already has it

Since you mentioned it, it only takes minutes to clear Immigration at CNX - machines won't make much difference.

This won’t be for DTV. DTV will still need an IO to stamp passport

wrong all visa holders can use the gates. As they can across all ASEAN countries using the system

yeh you enter with a SG passport and get your 60 days and not 180 days if you go through the gate. Good luck to whatever may arise from it when you leave on the 85th day. Ignorance isn’t a defense.

สมองควาย ๒๕๖๘ if you’re a Singaporean or HongKonger you can use the existing automated Gates. As a tourist. If you’re a DTV holder from either of those countries, you can’t. This automated scheme is to expand the list of countries. In short, it has nothing to do with DTV holders but everyone loves to think this involves DTV.

New gates are unavailable for first time travelers. Must have entered the kingdom at least twice before. Also the new THIM app allows you register your passport and visa details prior

To arrival.
