Hello everyone, I understood that as a German I have 30 days no visa needed for Thailand, but today I received this stamp. I’m a bit confused, I thought I needed to apply ahead of time to get 60 days. Does this mean I’m good for 60 days?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
As of July 15, 2024, German passport holders can enter Thailand and receive a visa exemption stamp allowing them to stay for 60 days. This information clarifies that the user can indeed stay for 60 days and has the option to extend their stay by an additional 30 days at a local immigration office for a fee.

And seeing as it would appear that people cannot come in positively without taking a dig at the op for not knowing that it changed from 30 to 60 I will now close commenting on this topic.

Thanks one and all..

I was going to say the same thing. I didn’t know either.

It is a 60 day visa exemption, not to be confused with a 60 day VOA.

VOA is 15 days ;)

yeah, I was correcting a fellow who referred to his stamp as a 60 day VOA, so I said it was a 60 day exemption. 🍻

German passport holders qualify under the visa exempt rule which you can enter Thailand for 60 days and can also extend for a further 30 days at your local immigration office for 1900 baht

You're a little bit behind the times I'm afraid.

Since July 15th 2024 people from 90+ countries have been able to get into Thailand for 60 days free stamp (visa exempt), Germany is one of them.

You are indeed able to stay 60 days.

Plus you could go to the immigration office near where you stay and apply for a 30-day extension on that 60-day stamp for 1900 baht
