Hi just need some advice .

We arrived Phuket early July on a 60+30 day tourist visa .

We are flying to Penang Sunday 18th and returning 23rd where we will apply for another 60+30 day visa which will expire December 23rd .

Does anyone know if we need to leave Phuket then or can we get an extension here for an extra week so we can spend Xmas here ,

Thanks Sharlene

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, Sharlene, inquires about the possibility of extending her tourist visa to stay in Phuket for an additional week over Christmas after returning from Penang. Responses indicate that a tourist visa typically allows only a single 30-day extension, which may not be granted if she's currently in Thailand. Suggestions were made to apply for the visa in Penang instead.

even though I'm not recommending this, you could consider just overstaying, and pay the bt2000 fine at the airport when you leave. You do run a slight risk of being caught, but it is a very small risk that time of year. Just don't bring unneeded attention to yourself, as if by some chance someone in authority would want to see your passport.

the overstay Stamp is in Passport 1 day or 20 Days

Immigration look. Big Problems travel Thailand again.

You can't apply for a Tourist visa inside Thailand! But you can in Penang.

A tourist visa is only eligible for one single 30 day extension.

You can try applying for another extension after that and they'll give you a 7 day "get out of Thailand, extension denied" stamp that's not an extension at all, and starts the day you apply so you lose any days you have left. Also it still costs the full 1900₿

also they may simply refuse to accept the application rather than provide the 7 days get out of Dodge option.
