ORIGINAL POSTER
My wife and I are coming over to Thailand and then plan to visit Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Vietnam and finally Australia.

We are retired and financially very stable. We intend to enter Thailand approximately 3-4 times over 6-8 months.

Tourist visa with extension and boarder bounce or Muti entry visa????

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on visa options for multiple entries into Thailand over a span of 6-8 months, considering they are retired and financially stable. Comments on the post suggest using the visa exempt option and warn against relying on border runs due to tightening immigration policies. Several commenters recommend looking into the recent changes in border crossing regulations and suggest alternative countries for travel that may have more relaxed visa requirements.

Beware of Thai govt recent closure of land border crossings with Cambodia. Check it out on line to be sure it won’t interfere with your visit.

well that is if you want to get there quickly it'll cost you about the same price if not more even when you consider in a hotel price to get there over the Border if you were to have gone to Cambodia or maybe in some case if you were to go to a country maybe further down south usually in my experience it was around 4 to 6000 baht possibly maybe more due to the fact that when you get there you also got to have to eat so it is what it is personally I would settle and Cambodia or Vietnam where maybe visa laws are a little more relaxed I heard Cambodia is going to be the most lacks but definitely stay away from the borders plus I've spent time on the Cambodian border before very scary place until you go a little ways down the road

I also agree and doing border runs to Laos is not going to help because it is very common and they have buckled down heavily there plus sometimes if you live far up north in Thailand like I do it's best and about the same price to just take a plane over

Quick heads up border bouncing is fixing to go the way of the dinosaur here in Thailand been here since January and a lot of us have been talking about this controversy especially with the arise of Thailand locking down people's accounts and Thai Banks and stuff so just because it's stay safe enjoy your trip but remember that Thailand is now starting to buckle down on it immigration policies it's kind of sad because it's gearing toward mainly rich and retired and believe you me I see a lot of the retired that this is enabling cyber crime such as online scams romance scams especially in the case of individuals that are more elderly and have a less probable chance of Defending themselves but by all means stay safe enjoy your time here in Thailand beautiful good food beautiful culture lots to document enjoy your time
