Hello I have a question. I hope this is the right place to ask.

I was in Thailand from February 4th until May 4th. As a Canadian citizen I get 60 day exemption and I did a 30-day extension. I then left and came to visit and travel around Cambodia for 30 days. I would like to come back into Thailand for 6 weeks.. is it a problem to enter Thailand again for a second time in a calendar year after already being there 90 days ?

I don't work this is strictly for travel.

Thanks
Answer summary
The user inquired about re-entering Thailand after a previous stay of 90 days within the same calendar year as a Canadian citizen, following travel in Cambodia. Responses suggest that while the user may re-enter Thailand and receive a 60-day exemption, approval is at the discretion of the immigration officer. It is recommended to have an outbound ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds when attempting to re-enter. The discussion highlights nuances in visa regulations and emphasizes the importance of travel history when entering Thailand.

I think if you have your flight booked home that would help

It will depend on when you come. The rules are currently in transition and could change within 15 days.

Whatever happens, you should get at least a 30 day visa exemption. That you can extend at an immigration office for an additional 7 days.

Given your time schedule, you should receive the 60 day stamp. However, even though everyone is saying that you won't have an issue with your travel history, you should always remember the fact that if you can enter Thailand is in the sole discretion of the immigration officer you are standing in front of.

You will get 60 days exempt and 7 days extension.

The revised visa-exemption scheme will come into effect 15 days after it appears in the Royal Gazette, where legal and regulatory notifications are published.

The airline will have the right to ask for proof of onward journey on or before day 60 since you are entering on an exemption.

As always, it’s up to the IO whether or not you would be admitted. My gut feeling is that you will be okay, especially if you can prove that you are only staying for six weeks.

You’ll get 60. But likely won’t get a second extension.

There is no such thing as your entries resetting with a new calendar year. So whether or not you will have an issue will depend on your history of being in Thailand over the past 12 to 18 months
