Can I re-enter Thailand with a 7-day exit stamp after a visa run?

Needing help with a scenario: I am in Thailand now, and applying for visa extention will get me the 7 days to get out stamp. I leave the country for a visa run (not sure where yet). I apply for new tourist visa while out of country. I come back to Thailand in a week or so on new visa and thai pass system.

Does anyone know if it still possible to re-enter thailand from a visa run if you have the 7 day exit stamp in your passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the possibility of re-entering Thailand with a 7-day exit stamp after applying for a visa extension. Most comments suggest that this stamp does not impact re-entry; however, there may be extra scrutiny during immigration checks. There are warnings about potential entry denial based on previous visa extensions, especially related to COVID-19 measures, indicating it might be safer to obtain a proper visa from one's home country.

"I apply for new tourist visa while out of country." turn-around for me, in US -LA, a couple of days

ThaiPass, couple of weeks. When was looking into this a couple of months ago, the recommended wait time is 3 weeks (10 - 13 business days or something).

Good luck. let us know how it goes

I have read that there’s been people doing exactly what you are thinking of doing and have been denied entry back into Thailand by immigration.

Depending on how many covid extension you have done they are coming heavy down on this.

Some people have been advised to go back to their home country and get the correct visa to stay in Thailand

Yvonne Russell thanks, I've only heard one actual story about the French woman who was on a falsified volunteer visa and then denied reentry. Otherwise, everything has just been hearsay 🤔

It's not a 7 day exit stamp, it's an extension denial. Anytime you apply for an extension and are denied you get 7 days. It has no effect on reentering the country in the future.

i want to extend my 15 days visa on arrival (India) but Indians are only allowed to extend by 7 days, so would it be considered as a visa extension or would it be an extension denial stamp on my passport?

Extension denied

Because visa on arrivals aren't eligible to be extended. You'll get a 7 day extension denied stamp.

Would it cause problems in applying for visas of another countries?

@Nishant ***********
Not at all. It just means your application for an extension was denied. Happens all the time for various reasons.

because I'll be going to Malaysia on a visa on arrival that requires a valid visa of Thailand to be eligible to apply for Malaysian visa on arrival.

Yes, that stamp makes no difference. It's a lot better than overstay.
