Folks on a DTV - are you able to open a Bank account? Also has anyone got a Thai tax ID or Pink card. Some of the banks are refusing to open an account on the DTV.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Opening a bank account in Thailand on a DTV (Tourist Visa) can be challenging, as many banks refuse to do so without additional documentation. Some expats have reported success by purchasing insurance from the bank, which may facilitate the account opening process. Additionally, obtaining a Thai tax ID or Pink card might raise questions about why it’s needed, but specifics on this were not elaborated in the conversation.
You can try bangkok bank. They let me open an account on a student visa if i bougt the insurance.

The DTV is a tourist visa. You're probably not going to find a bank that will open an account just because you have the DTV. You'll probably have to pay an agent to assist in getting one.
