TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired whether it's possible to obtain a re-entry permit at Samui Airport. Community responses clarified that while Samui is an international airport, re-entry permits cannot be issued there. Users were advised to visit the immigration office in Mae Nam for such permits. Updates in the discussion confirmed that individuals needing a re-entry permit should not count on being able to get one at the airport.
Miche miche, just to let you know, I was at Samui immigration today. They informed me that it is not possible to obtain a re-entry permit at Samui airport.
Unless your ticket was bought from Samui to your destination as a direct thru ticket you will have to check in separately at BKK anyway for the Euro leg. New rules introduced by BangkokAir whereby Samui - Bangkok tickets purchased as a separate transaction , means you can no longer clear immigration or put through luggage to Europe at Samui airport
But now i dont know what to do... maybe i will not checkin my flight to paris like this i will get one in Bkk... or i go samui immi to get one but i live in koh pha ngan....
Sorry if it came over wrong. My assume answer was to do with not knowing any international airport here that a reentry permit cannot be gained from. Immigration there issue visa on arrivals so it would be very strange for them not to offer a reentry permit? I actually took the time to look if it was indeed receiving international flights these days. The last time I flew in and out of there, it was a grass landing strip and the island had dirt roads.
Ron Angel I'm not an expert on this so I won't offer skeptical advice. People need solid absolute answers here. These are not "Where's the best hamburger in bkk" questions. They affect people's lives. Hope your assume answer on re-entry permit did not screw anyone up. Anyway dude it was not meant as a personal attack.
David Broadfoot I think this kind of forum is for the; "I know" people to respond to like Tod and Lloyd; Not the "I think", "maybe" "I assume" "I heard from someone" or "probably you can" people. Those words don't give people a warm and fuzzy feeling walking towards the immigration counter with just 500 baht in their pocket.
Just checked Tod and Samui Airport issues visas on arrival. In that case they must now accept international flights so I assume they would issue reentry permits?
