TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a re-entry permit at Don Muang Airport, you should go to the designated desk located after you pass through passport control and before the security screening area. It’s advisable to allow at least an extra 30 minutes for the process. The fee for the re-entry permit is typically around 1000 baht, and there may be an additional charge of 200 baht for photos and paperwork assistance.

What's a re entry permit got to do with the visa you're on ?? 555
I know someone who came in on a single entry tourist visa, got stamped in for 60 days, went to the immigration office got the 30 day extension for 1900baht and then bought a multiple re-entry permit for 3800baht :O They traveled all over S/E Asia two days here, three days there and re-entered thailand without a problem.

At Don Muang airport, re-entry permit desk is located after you thru passport control (immigration) and before security screening. That means you got stamped out to exit country and get re-entry permit immediately after that.
Inverse order of passport control & security screening between Don Muang airport (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK).

The office to get reentry permit is just after departure immigration desks. They do everything for you. Just give yourself at least extra time 30mins. 1000 baht. They may charge a fee of 200 baht for doing pictures and completing paperwork for you. This is what they charge in suvarnabhumi airport anyways. Good luck. Saves a trip to immigration office so good idea :)
