Is the re-entry permit counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport open 24 hours?

Question regarding obtaining a re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi.

I’m flying out of Suvarnabhumi tonight due to an emergency in my home country. I usually get my re-entry permit at my local Immigration office before I leave, unfortunately there is no time for this.

My flight is at 11 pm at night and I will only be able to pass through security and go to the gate fairly last minute as I am on waiting list..

Is the re-entry permit counter open 24 hours? Since I don’t have tons of spare time between passing through Security and boarding my flight. Could I have any issues with the counter not being manned or this process taken a long time?

I’ve been hearing conflicting information from friends who have been through the airport recently.

Thank you very much for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The re-entry permit counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport is open 24/7 and located at International Departure Gate 2, past security screening. Travelers can obtain a re-entry permit on the spot for a fee of 1,200 baht without needing a photo or additional documentation. However, it's advisable to allow for about 20 minutes to complete the process before heading to passport control. Some users reported positive experiences using the counter, stating it can expedite the immigration process.

Hey
@Nadine *******
- I’m sorry to hear you have to rush back.

Yes, they’re open

unless you’re very unlucky and they’re on a short break.

It’s actually a great way to go through immigration faster, as you don’t have to stand in the regular long queue, so this will likely work in your favour.

Fly domestic to BKK. Just bring enough cash, go to the little re-entry booth (far left / past last queue), pay (it’s a few hundred baht extra if you don’t have a passport photo), get handed back a file with completed form etc., drop it off at the little re-entry office just behind the immigration officers stamping people out, wait for your name/number to be called and then you’ll usually get sent to the nearest immigration officer to be stamped out (ie don’t go to the back of the regular queue). It’s pretty self explanatory once you’re there, and you may get a little extra help if you explain the rush.

I’ve done this multiple times, most recently 2.5 months ago. Safe travels! ❤️

You don't need to wait in any immigration queues if you have a e passport which we all do ... You just scan at the gates, why are you waiting in long queues?
Isabelle **********
Note this only applies if you go through Dep Gate 2 where the re entry booth is.

As others have commented, you’ll otherwise have to go wait in the normal immigration queue, let them know you need a re-entry permit when they’re stamping you out, and then back track to Gate 2, which will add time & stress to the whole process.

There is only one re-entry counter at Suvarnabhumi airport and it's located at the International Departure Gate 2, after security screening on upper floor, on the same floor of passport control. The easiest is going through the Gate 2.

If you through other departure gate, you have to tell to the officer at passport control that you need re-entry permit, then you have to go to all the way to Gate 2 from air side to get re-entry permit after you are stamped out.

For example. this is the sign at Gate 3, after you go through the passport control.

At Suvarnabumhi, it depends on which Departure Gate you’re passing through. 🙏

Correct, use Departures 1 & 3 and you need to do it after being stamped out and getting instructions from the Immigration Officer

it is on the left side before the passport control. I ask the officer when I showed him my passport if I have reentry or not. (was on an extension of an Non OA) He stamped me out and ask to get reentry
