I have been told that you cant apply for a new drivers licence until 21st October. Anyone know for sure and does it mean i cannot hire a motorcycle after 3 months in the country on an OA visa. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the timeline for applying for a new driver's license in Thailand and whether they could rent a motorcycle after three months on an OA visa. Comments from the community suggest that individuals can generally drive on an expired license for up to a year if they have booked a renewal appointment due to COVID-19 flexibility. UK license holders can drive in Thailand due to international agreements, while another user clarified the distinctions for US license holders. Overall, flexibility in the regulations exists, but it's advisable to verify current laws and requirements.

Wyn Williams. UK is a signatory to the 1948 Geneva Convention, as is Thailand, so you can drive on your UK licence in Thailand no problem.
