Sorry, if this has been asked before but its quite a simple question. Can an Ed Visa, be a multiple entry? Such as , you can visit other countries and come back during the calendar year of school.

Answer summary

An Ed Visa (Education Visa) in Thailand is not a multiple entry visa by default. However, you can obtain a re-entry stamp which allows you to leave the country and return without canceling your visa. This can be done at an immigration office or the airport, and it costs 1,000 baht for a single re-entry permit and 3,800 baht for a multi re-entry permit. The re-entry permit is valid for the duration of your visa or extension of stay.

Multi entry Non imm ED visas are rarely avaliable from Consulates now but you can buy a single or multi re-entry permit for your visa or your extention of stay. Single 1000bt. Multi 3800bt. They are valid for the lenght of your visa or extention of stay.

ok, great.. thanks for the insight. Considering the current visa situation, if i visit, i might as well just finish up trying to learn thai.

Yes they'll stamp it in your passport. If you don't have one your visa will be cancelled when you leave Thailand.

So, you do this before you leave for the trip?

You'd be getting a re-entry stamp. You can get it at your immigration office or the airport. I always get it at my immigration office incase of any issues at the airport where there is no turning back.

humm, How does that work. You get to keep the ed visa , but just pay an exit fee, and get a stamp?
