TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual inquired about possibly extending their 90-day O retirement visa by 30 days or if they needed to do a visa run. Responses clarified that there are only two options for extending a non-O visa: a 1-year extension based on the same reason for the visa's issuance or a 60-day extension if they have a Thai spouse or child. Given that the individual has sufficient funds in a bank account, they can apply for the 1-year extension instead of opting for a visa run.

If you already have the money in the bank for two months you can apply for a 1 year extension for 1900 baht. Then you can get a reentery permit and leave after 1 more month and come back anytime within that one year visa.. So just get a 1 year extension otherwise you have to start with a 90 day no O again

you cannot get a 30-days extension of the stay permit on top of a 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa. In order to achieve a 120 days stay in Thailand, you would need to exit Thailand before the 90-days stay permit expires, stay outside Thailand for a few days or up to one week, then re-enter Thailand visa-exempt. You will get stamped in for 60 days on a visa exempt entry ( guaranteed if your travel history to Thailand is not overly extensive)

There are only 2 extensions possible from a non-O visa.

A 1-year extension based on the same reason the visa was issued for.

A 60 day "visiting Thai family" extension if you have a Thai wife or half-Thai child.
