I land in Thailand 🇹🇭 but I only want to purchase new flight ✈️ to Laos. I need to get my luggage 🧳, and that means I have to exit the airport. Can I go back in the airport without being quarantined? It’s less than 24hrs.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original question is about whether one can exit the airport in Thailand to retrieve luggage and re-enter without facing quarantine, particularly within a 24-hour period. The responses unanimously indicate that exiting the airport would indeed require going through immigration, which would trigger a mandatory quarantine period due to COVID-19 regulations. Additionally, discussions on the current state of Laos as a travel destination and the challenges surrounding connecting flights and luggage handling were mentioned.

If you have an interline flight they will transfer your baggage for you. Check with your airline

Nope that would be entering Thailand if you pass through Immigration to exit. 7 days quarantine if you do. You need to book a transit flight if there is one.

, is there a way I let the staff know, I don’t have to leave but pay the staff to grab my luggage 🧳?
Wayne *********
@Lai ************
luggage then needs to be checked in how are you going to do that. Thai staff will not collect and go check it in for you. Your luggage your responsibility.

@Wayne ********
, make sense, but also to make me quarantined for only grabbing my luggage 🧳. Are you kidding me?

that's why it's called transit, book a connecting transit flight its that simple always been that way. You can not expect people to handle your luggage because you booked the wrong flights.

, there is no connecting flight ✈️ the route I took. I tried, I spoke with travel agent. There is none

maybe need to look at another country for transit. Sorry its so hard but covid has made it difficult to move around freely as we once were used to.

If it is the same airline or sister airline they may put it all the way through for you to your final destination, call and ask. I booked a BBK to UK flight and seperate CM to BKK. At check in in CM they said they will put my hold luggage all the way through to my destination even though I booked seperate. But that was domestic and before covid, your issue covid restrictions, do you need to have a thaipass to board a flight where your final destination on your boarding card is Thailand? And what are the restrictions for Laos?

Laos is closed. Not opening borders until

Last I heard you can only transit on one ticket and you need to have insurance.

I have not heard of anyone entering Lao in a long time, and I don't believe they are selling tourist visas or visa on arrival; has this changed?
Helen ********
@Benjamin *****
only for certain countries and it seems that unless approved you must be on a tour..
