Will I have trouble getting a 30-day visa exemption when returning to Thailand after a short trip to Singapore?

Hi folks. I'm an American with a one-year visa from Cambodia, where I reside. I have a 60-day SETV, which I plan to use on 8 January. But I may have to fly from BKK to Singapore a few days afterward to help out a friend quite unexpectedly, perhaps only on a same-day trip.

I know my SETV will be of no use for my return, but do you suppose I'll have trouble getting a 30-day visa exempt when returning by air? I'll be flying back to PNH from BKK on 11 Feb. I'll appreciate any of your advice/comments, which I know I can count on based on all the good information I have been seeing here. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American expat currently holding a 60-day Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) plans to travel from Bangkok to Singapore and return shortly after. The expat is concerned about the re-entry process and whether they'll face issues obtaining a 30-day visa exemption upon their return flight. Community responses suggest applying for a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand, which would allow the original visa duration to remain valid upon return. Additionally, it was noted that entering Thailand could also be possible with a 30-day visa exemption without significant issues.

Before you leave apply for a re-entry permit. On return you will get the same date as stamped in when you used your Visa. F.E Arrive 8 Jan, get stamp till 8 March, leave to Singapore on 11 Feb, come back with re-entry permit and get stamped in again till 8 March.

Save the 1.000 Thb for the re-entry permit and just come back using the Visa Exempt Entry.

To clarify, if I have to go to Singapore, it may be on 14 or 15 January for as little as day and no more than two days. When I fly back to BKK, I won't be staying there beyond 11 Feb.

you should have no problem re-entering the country on a 30 day visa exempt entry

However, you could come in, get stamped in for 60 days then go buy a single re-entry permit for 1000baht which when you returned would get you stamped in for the original stamp's expiration date from the tourist visa.

Tod, it seems like 30-day visa exempt will be quite sufficient. If I read you right, that will work fine depending on exactly when I arrive for a definite 11 Feb. departure.
