Is it easy to change 500 euro banknotes in Bangkok? Notes are looking clean and fine, just curious if they accept.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is generally possible to exchange 500 euro banknotes in Bangkok, provided that the notes are in good condition—free from markings or tears. Exchange services like SuperRich may offer favorable rates compared to smaller denominations. However, note that 500 euro notes have been discontinued since 2019 and while they remain legal tender, many outlets may refuse to accept them in Europe. It is advisable to confirm exchange policies with specific banks or exchange services before attempting to exchange these notes.

Yes that's fine. Pretty much the only choice for those these days is exchange them for other currency as the EU themselves have stopped accepting them, or you may need to get them to Frankfurt all by yourself.

500 euro notes stopped being issued in 2019 but remain legal tender. Many European outlets refuse to accept them.
