Hello everyone! Firstly thank you, you’ve all been so helpful on my previous posts! We are nearly ready to book our mini sour east Asia trip, it will have to be 2 weeks Thailand, 2 weeks Vietnam then back to Thailand for final 2 weeks. Myself and 2 kids are british passport holders, my husband is fijian passport holder. Myself and kids get visa free entry both times but will need to show 40,000 thb entry, and husband 20,000 thb (twice) we don’t want to be left with loads of foreign currency, if we bring the amount in pounds sterling will that be ok? And can we change it when we are out there? Thank you 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British family is traveling to Thailand and needs guidance on visa entry requirements, particularly regarding bringing money in pounds sterling instead of Thai baht. They require 40,000 THB for themselves and their children and 20,000 THB for the Fijian husband. Comments from the community emphasize that the required amount must be in Thai baht or equivalent, and that it is essential to carry cash without any damage. Additionally, it's noted that while it might be tempting to show bank balances via accounts like Revolut, Thai Immigration specifically requires cash.

Your be changing £ for bart so make sure the notes are 100% no rips or marks on them.

If they are not 100% they will be handed back to you.

I always take £50 notes

And if you change the money at super rich you get 10bt more to a £

You can find

Super rich on fb

There is one at the airport

Have a nice holiday.
