Can I enter Thailand with a DTV visa document from a third country instead of directly from Vietnam?

Question: Just got my DTV Approved Da Nang (Ho Chi Minh Consulate.) Do I have to fly from Vietnam to Thailand to get my visa document? Or can I go to a neighbouring country for a trip and then from there (i.e Cambodia or Laos) and fly to Thailand? Basically, do I have to pass direct from Vietnam to Thailand to get the DTV visa document, or is it just put in my passport whenever I enter Thailand again from anywhere? It may be a silly question…I just wasn’t sure whether it had to be from Vietnam since it was processed by Ho Chi Minh Consulate…? Thanks!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not have to fly directly from Vietnam to Thailand to obtain your DTV visa document, as it is emailed to you as a PDF attachment. You can travel to a neighboring country (like Cambodia or Laos) and present your printed e-visa upon re-entry into Thailand. Additionally, it is recommended to print and carry supporting documents in case Thai immigration officials request them.

Just to add to others, along with your printed E-visa, do print out your other supporting documents in the case that the immigration requests for them. It doesn't happen often but it's good to be prepared!

DTV E–Visa is a PDF File

After the e-Visa application has been approved, a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant's registered email. The applicant is kindly requested to print a copy of the confirmation email to present to the airline at the port of departure and to Thai immigration officials in Thailand.

You will already have your visa document. It gets emailed to you as a pdf attachment. Print it out and show it to thai immigration on arrival, you don't have to travel directly to Thailand
