Hello , I'm swiss and divorced but we live together near surin , the past 2 years I used a agent to do my visa based on my daughter . I don't want to use the agent again as they have terrible costumer service. My yearly visa will expire next Tuesday. Can I do a a visa run to chom Chong,,osmach and get a 30 days tourist visa ? Then after that can I go to savanaketh for a visa based on visiting my child ? Or do I need a new passport?
Thanks Krub so much

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Swiss expat is inquiring about the possibility of doing a visa run to Chong Chom to obtain a 30-day tourist visa after his yearly visa expires. The individual is wondering if they can then travel to Savannakhet to apply for a visa based on visiting their child and if a new passport is needed. Responses indicate that while a new passport will not change the situation, a visa run to Chong Chom will allow for a 30-day visa exemption but does not provide a visa. It's noted that border bouncing at Chong Chom is straightforward, with minimal questioning.
Chong Chom is a very easy border to bounce from. Foreigners don't go there often so you don't wait in line ever and they don't ask any question. I can even cross that border with my dogs no question ask.
A new passport won't change anything. If you leave Thailand and return (border bounce, not visa run) you'll be stamped into Thailand for 30 days. You can only enter Thailand at a land border without a visa (visa exempt) 2 times per year.
