Update:

I drove myself to the satun border and the officer told me if I stay two days in Malaysia it’s ok but if I want to walk out and walk back in I must pay the border fee of 2k, so I did.

No problems, no questions.

Agent wanted me to pay 3k if I drive there myself and 4.8k if they take me.

No agent needed.

Hey, has anyone done a land crossing border bounce without using an agent? Preferably at satun border.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully crossed the Satun border without an agent, only paying a border fee after staying in Malaysia for two days. Other commenters provided insights about recent reports of issues with land border crossings, but indicated that those with a DTV visa can cross borders as long as they reach the border independently.

If you have a DTV, you can cross any border that's open for foreigners. You don't need an agent if you can get to the border yourself.

Recent report of Nong Khai Thai Immigration ‘holding out’ saying that border bounces should be done by air. However, the officer eventually gave an entrance stamp (presumably because there is no such requirement).

Same Immigration processes. What would you suggest in that scenario? Hold out? How long for? Personally, I’d offer some money. Worth it to be on my way.

I suggest if they have a DTV to do the TDAC beforehand, print out their DTV and hand it to the IO with passport.

CleverDolphin1112 I cannot find the post I've seen as it might have been in a different group but I've seen multiple people having issues with land crossing lately, I don't think there should be a problem for you worst case they give a warning and tell you to come through flight the next time
