Am currently on a tourist visa and just found out i can change my visa to a non imm b at my local immigration office in Ranong without going to Penang. Any experiences with this? More paper work..harder to do?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can change your tourist visa to a Non-Immigrant B visa at your local immigration office in Ranong. However, it requires a substantial amount of documentation, and not all immigration offices have the authority to process this change. It's recommended to visit your office beforehand to confirm they can handle the conversion and to obtain a list of required documents.

Correct, you can apply for the conversion from your Tourist Visa into a Non Immigrant B visa at you local Immigration Office. The only problem is you need a lot of documents to do this and not every Immigration Office has the clearance to do this. Best advice as we can give is visit your Immigration Office and ask if this is possible there and if yes get the hand out with the requirements.
