Hello, lets say i am currently in Thailand on a non o visa based in marrage. If I go to Vietnam for a few nights and come back, is there any reason I would be denied a visa exempt entry for 30 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There should be no reason to be denied a 30-day visa exempt entry into Thailand after traveling to Vietnam while holding a Non-O visa based on marriage.

I had read somewhere that because I have been in Thailand for a few years they could deny it as it is a "tourist visa" and I am not a tourist. I just need more time for my other visa to be approved (elite visa).
they could indeed deny you entry, but here's a thought IF you're waiting on the elite visa to be approved why not get a letter from them stating that and show it to the people at passport control when you stamp back in visa exempt?
