I'm currently back in Ireland (country of resident) can i apply for a SETV in any country in the EU?

As my partner lives in Belgium and it would save us a trip to another Embassy

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can apply for a Short-term Tourist Visa (SETV) at any Thai Consulate in the EU. However, it's important to note that each Consulate may have different requirements that must be fulfilled for the visa application process.

Yes, you can apply for an SETV at any Thai Consulate in the EU. Obviously you'll need to meet the requirements of the Consulate where you apply to actually get the visa. Consulates do have different requirements, even in the same country, it all depends on where you apply

Let us know how it goes. On the website they do specify residency requirement, but perhaps they waive it for EU citizens.

Booked to go first week of oct. I first asked for SETV but they said would require METV but the fact i lived in Ireland and would be applying in Belgium wasn't an issue shall update once issued :-) they did list some requirements: copy of travel insurance during travel, funds of total of 6.000 eur. Plane ticket to thailand, copy of confirmed stay first week at least. and because my partner is travelling with me a declaration i would take care of her financially ... (which is a weird one) :-)

, definitely post back and let us know if you were able to get the 6 month METV. It'd be good to know

In Austria you can only get the visa at the thai embassy if you are resident there (they want proof of this) or austrian citizenship. I could not do it in Switzerland. When I was living in germany (I am swede) I could not do it in Austria, possible however also in Sweden..

Most consulates have a residency requirement, meaning you need to legally live in the country you are applying in. Check the consulate's website you're going to apply in for their requirements on issuing a 6 month METV
