TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to apply for a 6-month multiple entry tourist visa at a Thai consulate, such as the one in Sydney, which allows for 60 days per entry. The application fee for this visa is approximately $225 AUD. If there is no Thai consulate in your home country, you may apply at a consulate in a nearby country where you hold legal residency.

You can get a 6month multiple entry visa from the consulate on Mcquarrie st in Sydney (if your still in Sydney as your profile). Which gives you 60days per entry. It's $225aud for that

There will be a Thai Embassy in nearby country that covers your country.

At a thai consulate in the country your passport comes from OR a country where you hold legal permanent residence status, yes.
