Hi guys

We , German nationals, are in Thailand on 30 days visa exempt and did a 30 day extension till april 27

Now we have to stay

4 or 5 days longer.

I remember I read somewhere you can apply for another extension, which they will not grant

But they give you a 7 day time to leave graceperiod...

Is that correct???

And how does that work??

I apply at immigration??

Only the last days of my extension??

Grateful for any advice

Answer summary

The user, a German national, is seeking advice on whether they can apply for a second extension of their visa after a 30-day extension has been granted. They mention needing to stay an additional 4-5 days beyond their extended stay and inquire about the process involved in potentially obtaining a grace period if their extension application is denied. A comment clarifies that if they apply for an extension they are ineligible for, they may receive a stamp indicating a denial along with a 7-day grace period to leave Thailand, starting from the application date, suggesting they should apply on their last day.

If you apply for an extension and you are not eligible, the immigration office might accept your application and the 1900 baht fee, and instead of giving you an extension, they will give you a stamp that says "Extension denied, you have 7 days to leave Thailand."

This stamp would start the day you apply, so you would want to wait until your last day to apply.

why would you risk getting caught and banned when you have an option to get another stamp in your passport?

You would go to the same immigration office you used for your extension. Since you didn't enter with a visa it would be IT Square Laksi.
