Has anyone recently setup a new Thai company and gone to the KL embassy for the visa?

A few old posts and sites I've read mention that they only do the visa process for those on existing non b visa's - not people who are applying for the first time.

The flight times and costs are much better to KL than Penang. I'd be interested to know of other locations you guys suggest for the Non B visa too.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the experience of applying for a Non-B visa at the Kuala Lumpur embassy for those who have recently set up a new company in Thailand. There are concerns that the embassy might only process visas for individuals holding existing Non-B visas, however, responses indicate that new applications are accepted without issue. Additionally, alternative locations for visa applications are explored, with KL being preferred over Penang due to better flight times and costs.

Click on the Visa needed, print out the checklist and check the box if documents available. if you have all, it would be no problem:

Thanks Robert. I'd looked there but also found people saying they done the same, and even called to confirm only to be turned away when arriving in person
